After a transatlantic traversal and the linguistic collision befitting my enchilada-infused Midwest English against a thick, but remarkably playful, Southern German, I have finally settled into this lovely jewel that is Emmendingen, a short ride out of Freiburg. The cultural acclimation was dotted with moments of shear joy: Latin Street Jam for Tanz in den Mai (Dance into May) and Salsa in El Bolero restaurant, among others.
